Meet the Doctor

I am your Family Dentist in Victoria, BC

Dr. Chanel Gallant grew up in the friendly Maritime province of Prince Edward Island. After graduating from the University of Prince Edward Island with her Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) in 1995, she was accepted into the Dalhousie University Dentistry program in Halifax, N.S. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1999, and moved to the West Coast shortly thereafter, to practice dentistry in the beautiful city of Victoria. Being an ‘island girl’ at heart, she fell in love with Vancouver Island and the West Coast way of life, and has been happily practicing dentistry in downtown Victoria for the past nineteen years.

Above all, she enjoys spending time getting to know her patients, and treating each client like one of the family. She believes in the importance of prevention, minimally invasive dentistry, and providing quality, long lasting dental care to ensure her patients keep their teeth healthy for a lifetime. She takes care to explain all treatment options, from simple to complex, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of various restorative materials, so that her patients understand all their options, and are actively involved in decisions regarding their oral health.

When she is not looking after her dental ‘family’, Dr Gallant attends regular continuing education courses, and is an active member of the Victoria and District Dental Society. She is also a member of the BC Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association. In her free time, Dr Gallant enjoys staying active with her husband and busy preschool aged daughter. Previously an avid runner and mountain biker, she still finds time to run twice a week with a local run club, but can now be found most often running after her daughter around one of Victoria’s many parks, beaches, and community centres. When time permits, she also enjoys hot yoga, paddle boarding, hiking, camping, family bike rides on the Galloping Goose, skiing, travel, photography, and simply enjoying and exploring Vancouver Island’s great outdoors with her family and friends.
